On October 1, Pepper’s Club will host “Cultural Forces of Ukraine: Music and Poetry of Victory” as part of the #NaShapku charity concert series.

Purpose: raising funds to help people wounded in the war

On Ukraine’s Defenders Day, service members, musicians and poets will share the stage. The evening will feature members of Cultural Forces of Ukraine and special guests.

Orchestra 59 grew out of Ukraine’s 59th Brigade and later became an independent ensemble within Cultural Forces. It brings together service members and professional musicians.

Yan Shypula volunteered for the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the first day of the full-scale invasion. Before the war, he worked in film and media. He began his music career while serving in Bakhmut.

Ihor Mitrov is a writer, literary scholar and veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war.

The evening’s guests are Dmytro Lazutkin — a poet, Shevchenko Prize laureate, journalist and active-duty officer in the Ukrainian Armed Forces — and Serhii Pantiuk, a writer, publisher, volunteer since 2014 and war veteran.

All donations from the concert will go to the SVOI Foundation to purchase bone implants for wounded service members and civilians affected by the war.
