Purpose: fundraising to support wounded defenders
The #NaShapku charity project once again brings together art and support for Ukraine’s defenders. This time on stage is one of the brightest contemporary Ukrainian artists, Yulia Yurina, with her ethno project “Gvara”.
Yulia Yurina is a Ukrainian singer and songwriter, a member of the band YUKO, and a vocal folklore teacher. She works in the styles of pop-rock and electro-folk.
She is the founder of the folk ensemble “Gvara”, which consists of her students.
“Gvara” is a community of people from different parts of Ukraine and various professions who found like-minded souls while studying Ukrainian folklore and folk songs.
Over a few years of learning, they have become a close-knit collective that supports one another. They carry the tradition further — sharing authentic Ukrainian folk heritage with wider audiences through public performances.
“Gvara” stands out for performing traditional folk songs with minimal intervention or modification, preserving their authentic sound — as they were sung many years ago in living tradition.
This evening is an opportunity to hear living folklore in a contemporary breath and feel the connection between generations.
Free entry. Live sound.
