On May 25, Jesus Christ Superstar: Reversed by Musical Slayers — a concert performance of selected numbers from the культ rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar — will take place at Peppers Club.
Top 3 reasons to attend:
— Live performance of key numbers from Jesus Christ Superstar, the legendary rock opera by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice.
— Role reversal: male parts are performed by women, and female parts by men.
— Emerging artists who have already made a name for themselves on the Kyiv stage, alongside a powerful live band.
The core idea of the project is not just a formal experiment, but a response to the times. Today, as the war continues and the world is changing before our eyes, women are increasingly stepping into the center of events — into roles that demand strength, responsibility, and the ability to make decisions.
This became the starting point for a new perspective on a familiar story. In Jesus Christ Superstar: Reversed, the focus shifts: what happens when the key events are experienced through female voices — with their emotional depth, determination, vulnerability, and inner strength.
This performance is the graduation project of fourth-year undergraduate students of the R. M. Glière Kyiv Municipal Academy of Music — performers who have already gained recognition through the Broadway Nights in Kyiv concert series.
