Goal: fundraising to support the wounded
The return of a legend. Perkalaba is coming. Isn’t that a miracle? It is.
On May 14, Perkalaba will play their first concert in Kyiv after a long pause. Founded in 1998, the band has become well-known and highly sought-after not only in Ukraine, but also in Germany, Poland, Austria, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. Ethno-rock festivals around the world know and keep waiting for Perkalaba again and again.
Much like Eugene Hütz — one of the band’s admirers — Perkalaba created their own unique style: gutzul roots. Each of their albums is different: early tracks lean toward reggae, later evolving into a deeper connection with Hutsul folk music and a kind of musical magic.
Lightness, humor, and carefreeness in this mix are their signature. Effortlessness. Simply the music of the Mountains — filled with the presence of open space, fresh air, and sun. And most importantly, it’s not imitation. Because many things can be faked — intellect, even world-weariness — but not genuine wildness, irony, and total freedom.
Free entry. Live sound.
